I went through the same thing years ago! I went with the TC40D with wheel weights, R4's and loader. The extra weight has been a great advantage! I love this tractor! The only thing I would do differently is to go with the 45 hp. You will not be dissapointed!

My TC40D arrived on Saturday morning! What a pleasure to operate! It is truly is more than I expected. Been a busy little boy around the farm this weekend too!
I could use a little more weight on the rear wheels but other than that WOW!
As far as the rebate goes it's a $100.00 less.

That is one I have had no experience with. You may be right about the syncros needing some friction. However we used to grind down every other syncro tooth in the old days for faster shifts and most times clutchless shifts. We had less friction with less teeth but the trans was for racing only. (never tried it on the street)As I recall we used strait 30w too for less friction. But these where only used a 1/4 mile at a time. I wasn't smart enough to go fast AND turn left too!
All the high dollar street and racing trannys today work well with synethics.
I am not disputing that you had problems, but so did the guys that ran Top Loaders and Muncies with regular gear oil!
That is why so many racers adapted the Mopar A-833 to fit GM or Ford!
Since you where a dealer you know never to use Amsoil in a brand new engine until they are broke in. It doesn't allow enough friction to let the rings seat properly. Only after a few dyno pulls do we add the synethics.
I am sure that like us the synethics have gotten better with age!
There may be better/more expensive synethics out there like Royal Purple, but why change a sure thing?

I was under the impression that the TC40 could only handle 100lb. of weight on the front. Anyone know any different?<br>

First Choice looks to be an excellent product. We'll be setting up a dealership with them exclusivly very soon. If you are in 2-4 hours of S. Jersey, We'll make it worth the trip!

I think your DX40 is the equivelent to the TC40"D"
I just bought a TC40D. My best price BEFORE I went to my local dealer was $19,450.00 with 4wd, 16LA FEL w/ HD bucket, R-4, rear work light. (I plan on getting the backhoe next year.) Then I went to my local dealer and asked him to beat it but not in price. I asked for wheel weights and a grille guard. He did and agreed to weld hooks on the bucket too. Then I added a cutter blade for the bucket, ($150.00) canopy ($450??) and a 918H 72" Flail mower ($2865.00) There is a 5% dealer discount from NH when you buy any implement with the purchase of a tractor.
There is also a $1050.00 dealer discount from NH on the tractor that almost every dealer passes on to be competitive.
Most of my qoutes came in from $20,400.00 to $20,900.00 before additions. My dealer isn't thrilled with the close margin but appreciated the fact that I allowed him to decide if he wanted to sell it to me. (1/2 of something is better than all of nothing) By me adding options after the sale made it easier on him and me also. It helps too that we have had a working relationship over 7 years and it was a cash deal.

My tractor is scheduled to be built on Wednesday and shipped this Friday .I should have it by the end of next week in a perfect world! I ordered it with weights figuring that I can add more balast if needed. We'll see soon enough!
I'm really looking forward to this as much as a new Hot Rod!
My old 3000 hit the paper Saturday morning. It was sold by 10AM!
